Hello everyone! Welcome to another one of my blogs, possibly the last of this year, and thats propably for the best. Today, lets make it about.. hmm, well actually I don't really know what to make a blog about today. I just wanted to write a blog before I forget again, yet I don't have any ideas, maybe I should read my own post about getting code ideas and apply it to blogs, but I can propably figure something out without it. What about status of all those services I made the last 2 blogs about? Well, the FTP works preety great, it still crashes when you disconnect from it, atleast via filezilla, but thats acceptable, I have systemd configured so it autorestarts it anyway. The git server is still not running, I need to focus on that, fix it and run it at some point, but for now the FTP has been picking up the slack. I also run a daily maze discord bot thats basically a bash script with a systemd timer attached to it, im preety sure that is new, and so is the maze.ireview.games website! Its been working preety great, I just recently figured out that it was taking up all 300mb for the image because it had to download clang++ to compile the repository, I just had to set the base for the actual publishing container as alpine instead of the shared base that included clang++, and now it works preety good with like 9mb in size. Well, thats still not enough content for an entire blog, is it now. My blogs used to be shorter than they're now, but I felt that making them longer was the right move, mainly because of how long have they been gone, and also I got a new keyboard and can actually type at a reasonable speed! About 100wpm at most, compared to the roughly 80 I could do before, altho I did do feel like I lost a bit of accuracy, but I don't really remember my accuracy on my past keyboard anyway, so I can't check it anyway. I upgraded from a crappy 5$ membrane 100% keyboard from like 2008, to a keychron k3 pro. I didn't want a thing with a numpad, or a TKL for that matter, because if I were to get that one, I would end up not being able to reach Home, End, PageDown and PageUp using my right pinky, therefore making me have to move my hand often and just making it painful to edit code in general, but with this strange version of this 75% layout. I also chose the red switches, because as someone upgrading from a membrane keyboard, you can propably imagine that the difference is already huge. Low profile was the obvious choice since I just hate high profile keys, even the low profile keys on this one are nearing the maximum I would consider good for a keyboard, so yeah. I obviously choose ansi layout, because I hate ISO (or local non purely american keyboards in general). It was 87bucks with shipping, and they even paid import fees from china, which was nice. And boy do I love it. Its like a satisfying anti stress sound producing.. thing, except it doubles as a keyboard. As for my typing speed, I feel like I am the bottleneck for my typing now instead of the keyboard, which honestly, kinda great, since if I decide to try to get better, not only do I not have an excuse anymore(and a valid one), but I actually do get better. I also have QMK(basically allows you to define macros and map any key to any other key) now, which is amazing. I did the executive decision of only using firefox on my linux machine and if I really need to use another one I can either go use my laptop which does have chromium, or reboot and boot to windows. This has the positive side effect of me not playing with QMK every day for hours on end, since VIA(the QMK configuration software) uses webserial, which is only avilable on chromium as of this day. I still do obviously play with my emacs cofiguration tho. As for how I'd rate it, its absolutely awesome and I do not regret the decision one bit, altho the fact that the better alternative(nuphy air75 v2) was recently heavily discounted since the v3 came out (even when its worse), didn't exactly make me happier, but I have been thinking about getting a keyboard for the last 5-6months, so I certainly didn't regret it. Still not enough content for the blog.. I have 1 more topic I can talk about, what should I buy from aliexpress? I decided to get the receipt printer, so I will be buying that when I decide to deposit my cash at the bank and maybe leave my house for once. As for the other stuff, I was kindof thinking of getting a very little ups like thing to get a reliable server that will never shutdown, but that still wouldn't allow me to serve traffic during that time since I don't want to be upsing my router, so I am thinking of getting my old android phone with a 500mb 4g cellular data/month hotspot, all the large data is cached on cloudflare anyway, but I may just not do that until I get some decent amount of money. I am also deciding if I should get an FPGA, a ToF depth camera or a usb ethernet card to have a proper second interface on my computer to be able to get proper bridging functionality and be able to see what the devices like my phone, are actually doing and how much are they spying on me, and more imporantly, how much cellular theyre wasting while doing so. Well, hopefully thats a long enough blogpost with no real theme. And hey, happy christmas! If you liked this blog, or me, you can let me know what kind of theme do you want for next time, and if you don't, why are you even here? Peace.
